Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data WoWGuildHub handles, why, who else receives it and how you can exercise your rights. We collect only what the service needs to work: no advertising, no tracking and no sale of data.
Who is responsible
The data controller is the operator of WoWGuildHub.
What data we handle
- Your account: email address, display name, password (stored only as a one-way hash), language and time zone.
- If you sign in with Battle.net: your BattleTag, your Battle.net account ID and, with your permission (the "wow.profile" scope), your World of Warcraft characters. The access token Battle.net gives us is kept so your characters can be refreshed.
- If you link Discord: your Discord user ID and name (the "identify" scope). We never read your messages.
- Guild data that you or your guild's officers enter: characters, roles, raid sign-ups and attendance, loot, wishlists, applications to join, rule acceptances and notes officers write about members.
- Public game data about characters (item level, progress, Mythic+ score, logs), fetched from Blizzard, Raider.IO, Warcraft Logs and, if your guild connects it, WoWAudit.
- Technical data: your IP address, used briefly to limit repeated attempts such as failed logins, and the server logs our hosting provider keeps for security and troubleshooting.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To provide the service you signed up for: your account, your guilds and their tools (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To send the emails the service needs: password resets, account notices and answers to join requests (performance of a contract).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To show what a guild chooses to publish on its public page (the guild's legitimate interest; its officers decide what is shown).
We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.
Who else processes it
We rely on these providers, each bound by its own data processing terms:
- Vercel: hosting of the website (servers in the United States and the EU).
- Supabase: the database (Ireland, EU).
- Resend: sending emails (United States).
- Upstash: short-lived counters that limit repeated attempts.
- Blizzard Entertainment and Discord: only when you choose to sign in with or link those accounts.
- Raider.IO, Warcraft Logs and WoWAudit: they receive character and realm names and return public game data; WoWAudit only if your guild connects it.
- Blizzard and Wowhead also serve some of the images and the item tooltips shown on the site, so your browser connects to their servers and they receive your IP address.
When data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account: while it exists. When it is deleted, we erase your personal data except what the law requires us to keep.
- Battle.net and Discord links: until you unlink them or delete your account.
- Guild data: while the guild exists. Officers can edit or remove it at any time, and deleting the guild deletes it.
- Attempt counters: a few minutes. Server logs: the limited period set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive it in a portable format, and restrict or object to its processing. We answer within one month. If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es).
Cookies and browser storage
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and security cookies that protect the sign-in forms.
- A cookie that remembers the language you chose.
- Your browser's local storage, which remembers the theme and some display preferences.
All of them are needed for the site to work as you ask, so they do not need your consent. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Minimum age
WoWGuildHub is not meant for children. You must be at least 14 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if it is higher, to create an account.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on the site before the change applies. The date of the last update is at the bottom of this page.
Contact
For any question about your data or these terms, or to exercise your rights, contact WoWGuildHub's administrators.
